Celui qui apportait la nouvelle dit en réponse: Israël a fui devant les Philistins, et le peuple a éprouvé une grande défaite; et même tes deux fils, Hophni et Phinées, sont morts, et l'arche de Dieu a été prise.

And the messenger answered and said, Israel is fled before the Philistines, and there hath been also a great slaughter among the people, and thy two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God is taken.
