Tout le peuple du pays entra dans la maison de Baal, et ils la démolirent; ils brisèrent entièrement ses autels et ses images, et ils tuèrent devant les autels Matthan, prêtre de Baal. Le sacrificateur Jehojada mit des surveillants dans la maison de l'Eternel.

And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD.
