L'Eternel avait résolu de détruire les murs de la fille de Sion; Il a tendu le cordeau, il n'a pas retiré sa main sans les avoir anéantis; Il a plongé dans le deuil rempart et murailles, Qui n'offrent plus ensemble qu'une triste ruine.

The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
