Car nous sommes esclaves, mais Dieu ne nous a pas abandonnés dans notre servitude. Il nous a rendus les objets de la bienveillance des rois de Perse, pour nous conserver la vie afin que nous puissions bâtir la maison de notre Dieu et en relever les ruines, et pour nous donner une retraite en Juda et à Jérusalem.

For we [were] bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.
